Pale brick red with cherry hue on rim. The Idig 2011 shows greater generosity of fruit than I have been used to in the past. Add an intriguing flinty fragrance to the spirity scent of eau-de-vie de cerise (cherries), and you have a highly seductive olfactory sensation. The palate does not let you down, as sweet raspberries and cherries titillate the taste buds, enhanced by the soothing effect of a velvety texture. Of course there is some wood, but it has been managed in a most tasteful way to avoid any bitter disappointment on the finish. It’s really very good.
