Medium plum shade with watery purple rim. The fruit of the Silberberg is not finding it easy at this infant stage to compete with some serious smoky and almost ashy aromas on the nose. To be fair, cherries and spice find their way through on the palate, but I suspect that this GG will always appeal more to those who also appreciate the attraction of a touch of toasting.
