With this wine, I thee wed. Riesling CO was first bottled in 2005 to mark Carolin and Oliver Spanier’s marriage. And from that joyous occasion, a new line was born. Here the fruit is deliberately exchanged for stone, chalk and spice — which is why we call it “Liquid Earth by H.O.”! Delicate and silky, the wine caresses the palate, captivates with its grandeur, yet never minimizes its power nor its depth. The wine is bound deeply to its origins, reflecting a sense of place, of soil, of stone. True to itself, never to convention. This is a wine more in keeping with a great Burgundy than a Riesling — especially as it matures. It is intended as a landmark and a statement, as proof of all that wine can achieve. CO is released onto the market no sooner than 5 years after harvest. A genuine ‘reserve’ that makes its debut only when it is truly ready to enchant.
