Honeyed apricot and already more complex than the previous straight Auslese. Greater depth and intensity, so intense it seems almost spicy on your tongue. Yellow plum and apricot. Amazing concentration but still such elegance. It is hard to believe the acidity is this high as the wine is still in perfect balance. It feels as if I still have apricots in my mouth even long after spitting.
Picked 7-8 days later than the non-gold-capsule Auslese so there is a higher proportion of shrivelled grapes – 40%. No botrytis. TA 13.8 g/l. RS 110 g/l.
